Job Description:
Ground Crew Support/lead:
A ground crew support/lead for a Tree Service company helps climbers and Arborists by performing ground-level tasks, such as operating chainsaws and chippers, clearing debris, assisting with rope rigging, and ensuring job site safety and cleanup. Ability to run an excavator, and other equipment to assist with debris removal.
This role requires physical fitness, strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols.

Willingness to learn and train - Understanding the importance of knots, their purposes, anchors and creating secure loops, is crucial for safety and efficiency when working in trees.

Be a positive influence in the arboriculture environment.

Set up gear/ equipment and lines for climbers, assisting crew leader or foreman with various tasks as needed to ensure efficiency and safety.

Assisting in rigging: managing ropes and other rigging equipment to lower branches safely.
-
Operating machinery: chainsaws, wood chippers, and other relevant equipment.

Able to sharpen chainsaws

Removing, loading and hauling branches, logs, and other tree debris from the job site.

Able to load and haul logs on trailer and/or dumptrucks
-
Able to drive trucks and back up trailers.

Ensuring the job site is safe for the crew and the public by maintaining a clear and secure work area.

Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.

Able to notice any maintenance issues in vehicles and equipment.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions

Collaborative Work ethic : A strong, positive, and motivated attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Experience operating chainsaws. Familiarity with operating and maintaining equipment.

Valid Driver License - able to drive dump trucks

Climber:
SAFETY FIRST!
Confidently evaluate tree health and climbing plan
Knowledge of knots and use of modern climbing technology
Evaluate all safety gear before each climb
Plan and communicate before and during work
Able to perform a wide range of arboriculture tasks aloft.
This includes removals, pruning, cabling.
Ability to climb SRS, MRS, and with spikes.
Ability to positively rig, negative rig, span rig, and use GRCS.
Ability to fell trees and able to perform all ground duties if needed as well.
